The 280 million-year-old grove in the South Pole

( CNN) Antarctica as we know it is a nippy wilderness covered in thick compacted ice.

During the last Antarctic summer, geologist Erik Gulbranson and a unit of polar scientists risked upon fogies from the oldest polar wood found on the continent — before the first dinosaur moved the Earth.

Now the team is gallanting the property of sparkler once more to uncover evidences as to how woods formerly prospered there.
